Attention All Students: Counselors will be available in the Career Center for second semester schedule changes according to the following schedule:
Juniors and Seniors: Tuesday, January 24 from 12:30 - 2:30
Freshmen and Sophomores: Wednesday, January 25 from 12:30 - 2:30
Changes will only be honored for the following reasons: (1) You are missing a class, (2) You have a "See Counselor" in your schedule, (3) You are scheduled to take duplicate classes - e.g. you have two English classes in your schedule or you are scheduled to take an elective you have already taken and passed, (4) You are missing a required course - e.g. second semester U.S. History, or (5) You are planning to make a level change or drop a course and wish to pick up a petition form. Please adhere to the "Course Drop Procedure" guidelines as indicated in the 2011-2012 Curriculum Guide, page 6. Remember, requests for teacher changes will not be honored.
Attention All Students: Arcadia Unified School District middle and elementary schools are not on a minimum day schedule next week. The Principal from each of these schools have asked that Arcadia High School students be reminded that they are NOT to come to your former schools to visit. Please go straight home after finals. If you want to visit your former school or a former teacher, you must wait until the school day is complete at that school.
Freshman Council Bonding Event changed to February 3rd 2012! Come and have fun with your freshman peers!
Orchesis Souplantation fundraiser on Thursday Jan 26 5-8pm. Please help support our program and eat a tasty dinner at Souplantation after the last day of finals and we will receive 20% of the bill. See Orchesis member for a flyer.
HELP WANTED!!
AHS Color Guard is hosting two Winter Guard Association of Southern California (WGASC) shows on Saturday, February 18 and Sunday, March 4. We are looking for student volunteers for our shows. We have a number of volunteer shifts running from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm on Saturday and shifts on Sunday run from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. We will issue letters to students confirming volunteer hours.

Please join us on Wednesday, January 25, at the Lecture Hall after finals as a group of Ms. Bishop's eleventh grade English students revel and recap the most inspirational student speeches of the 2011-2012 school year! Select students will be presenting their speeches as an encore from 1:00 - 3:00 pm. All students and staff are invited! If you can find the time, you really don't want to miss this!
Students: Are you wondering what to do this summer? How about a summer internship program for the month of July in Shanghai? Zoma Worldwide is offering a program for career exploration, global immersion and social responsibility from July 1-31, 2012. A presenter will give you all the details after school on Wed Feb 15 in the Career Center. Come here what they are offering and decide if it is right for you!
Congratulations to the winning teams of 3 on 3 Basketball Intramurals!
After a tough season, two teams have made it to the top in the playoffs. That’s What She Said won first place in a close game with Tall Shorties, which won second. Each member of the first place team received a $20 gift card to any store of their choice, while the members of the second place team each received $10. Make sure to congratulate the two teams and sign up for a new season of intramurals next semester!
Attention all Apaches! Link Crew will be hosting a Powder-Puff Football Game! What’s that? It’s a flag football game where the girls play football and the guys cheer! For those interested, sign ups will be Jan 23rd to Feb 3rd outside B2, or you can sign up at the MANDATORY informational meeting Feb 3rd at lunch in B2. The game is on Feb 10th from 3 to 5 at the football field. It’s going to be a great time, so come out and play or cheer on your friends!!

From 1/30/12 to 2/8/12, you can buy a valentine gram from any yearbook member or come out during those days to the rally court to purchase one. All valentine grams also come with a carnation! This is a great opportunity to show your love (or friendship) for those you care about most!

Have you noticed the pictures on the "Student Life" display case outside the ASB Office? Yearning to show some cool pictures you took, or pictures of you and your friends? If so, now is your chance!
Submit your photos to asb@ausd.net with the subject as "Display Case Pictures" and make sure to include your name, grade, and ID in the subject body. Make sure to attach your pictures (5 max); they must be appropriate and have correlation to Arcadia High School. Pictures for February's display case must be sent in by January 26th.

Enrich Your Education: Host a French Student
Arcadia High School will once again host French students from Trévoux, France near Lyon! We need families willing to host students ages 16-18 they will visit Los Angeles and come to AHS, staying with families from Arcadia for 14 nights from Saturday February 4, to Friday February 17, 2012
